UPDATE: Our legal defense community outreach program is now full. We are so grateful for all the interest and support, and you may be interested in our other volunteer opportunities. We also really appreciate opportunities to speak about the case, donations, shows of community support through yard signs in and around Tucson, and any help bringing awareness about the repression of migrants and the attempted criminalization of humanitarian aid to your communities.
In November, our friend and comrade Dr. Scott Warren will face trial for a second time on two counts of felony harboring for offering food, water, clean clothes and beds to two men from Central America. This re-trial is a blatant attempt to intimidate people everywhere who believe care and compassion should not be criminalized.
In this time of heightened government repression of humanitarian aid, outreach efforts are a crucial part of defending Dr. Warren and No More Deaths against further attack. To that end, No More Deaths is hosting a short-term volunteer program in support of our legal defense campaign. From September to November 2019, we welcome volunteers from around the world for two weeks or longer to come support our community outreach efforts in southern Arizona.
Shared housing, food and in-state transportation provided. Applications accepted on a rolling basis. If you have questions or would like to apply but face significant financial barriers to participation please contact our campaign coordinator.
