Job definition
No More Deaths/No Más Muertes is seeking to hire our first coordinator for fundraising efforts. This new position begins as a part-time position and will be reviewed after six months. With support from long-term No More Deaths volunteers, the coordinator will build capacity and explore new strategies to raise funds in support of NMD’s mission.
The fundraising coordinator will work with the Fundraising Action Working Group, media/publishing teams, and NMD working groups to:

  • Develop social-media and other online strategies for fundraising
  • Track donor trends and cultivate major donors
  • Assist with public-facing communications (brochure and presentation materials, merchandise, appeals, and other messaging) as they relate to fundraising
  • Support event organizing, tabling, and outreach efforts by volunteers
  • Respond to inquiries on the NMD fundraising email account and phone line
Desired skills
  • English–Spanish bilingual strongly preferred
  • Fluent social-media skills
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Experience with Salesforce database or ability to learn
  • Familiarity with NMD’s work and mission
  • Experience with fundraising (this could include online/peer fundraising, crowdfunding, student organizing, grassroots fundraising, event planning)
  • Professional fundraising experience is not required
Contract conditions
  • Monthly salary of $600 half time
  • Transportation expenses related to NMD work will be reimbursed
  • Personnel team will meet with the volunteer on a monthly basis (or as needed) to provide ongoing support and feedback during the time of service
