Our report Shakedown: How Deportation Robs Immigrants of Their Money and Belongings documents immigration authorities’ failure to return people’s personal property to them in the process of detaining and deporting them.

We are committed to addressing this problem directly, through humanitarian aid. Members of the Nogales Working Group have compiled a set of best practices for this work of daily humanitarian intervention.
