We Reject Racism/Rechazamos el Racismo |
No More Deaths is engaged in a three-pronged campaign to stop the ever-increasing criminalization and militarization plaguing the U.S.–Mexico borderlands and communities in Arizona and throughout the U.S. The aims are to repeal the anti-immigrant law S.B.1070 through boycott; mobilizing our communities with a volunteer outreach campaign in collaboration with the Tierra y Libertad Organization; and bring about an end to raids and removals nationwide.

No More Deaths has an ongoing humanitarian presence in the desert migration corridor south of Tucson, utilizing both a fixed base camp and intermittent mobile camps. Our efforts are concentrated in an area 5–20 miles from the international border, and focus on upholding the most fundamental human right—life itself—by providing basic humanitarian assistance to those in need.
|
Our work in Mexico, centered around aid stations operated by local partners, directly addresses the needs of the large numbers of people ejected every day into the border towns of Sonora. Volunteers provide humanitarian assistance—including medical care, orientation/referral, and recovery of confiscated belongings—and carefully document human rights violations.

Border Patrol Custody Standards Campaign |
In response to the multitude of stories of abuse and neglect documented in our report, No More Deaths is organizing supporters around the country in a campaign for short-term custody standards. We are working with our grassroots base of former volunteers and supporters, with ally organizations in D.C. that lobby on detention and immigration issues, and with supportive congressional offices. Our goal is to implement clear, enforceable standards for Border Patrol with community oversight to ensure compliance.
